What do you see in his 'BUNNY EYES' ?

The eyes can tell you everything you need to know.
'

If dreams are lightning and thunder desire,
this 'old house would've burned down long ago.
With Summer in full retreat, it feels sometimes that our shadow is casting us.

In Atlantic City, killing a buffet with my friend and mentor Joe Lewis;
I remember a conversation about the difference between being internally
and externally focused in fighting.

THE EYES HAVE IT !!

When you observe an adversary it is pretty easy to read someone by their eyes.
In the movie Stick  Burt Reynolds said,
"He's got 'bunny eyes' .

In Uechi Ryu they say, 'Glare in the Eyes with Fast hands'.

Outside Martial Arts it works the same way as in 'the fight game'.
You can read someones level of commitment or 'heart' by the same means.

In women 'the resting bitch face' is a good indicator to WATCH OUT !
They are ruled by emotion and rarely have 'Bunny Eyes'.

In men there is a BIG difference between 'a soulful look' and 'Bunny Eyes'.
It's easy to mistake this look as sullen or passive aggressive.

The eyes are the windows to the soul.

True Story

With an effective 'Thousand yard stare', you can make
'ole bunny eyes' leave their 'place' and crawl back to the place where
their weak and damaged soul used to hide.

Or as Joe Lewis would say, "Send 'em back home cryin' to their momma".

Joe would talk about an attitude technique, 'sitting an opponent down'
will go a long way in the crushing of an adversaries' spirit.
Bill Wallace used to 'talk' to Joe in the clinch to frustrate him
in an effort to break his concentration.

'True Victory' comes from defeating an opponent on all levels.
MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY
 and  BREAKING their SPIRIT

'Cooler than Superman'...Dylan Hockley

A life may last just for a moment,
but memory can make that moment last forever.
Twenty first graders were gunned down on Dec. 14
 at
Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Along with the students, the lives of six school staffers,
including a teacher and a  principal, were lost  in Newtown, Connecticut.

.
'Cooler than Superman'...Dylan Hockley age 6 loved kickboxing..........

It's said.....
Your spirit does not die, it goes to the spirit world.
You will continue to learn and progress and may be with loved ones who have passed.

Im actually smiling through tears....
Dylan gets to train with my friend Joe Lewis.
.
There is a Mexican saying that we die three deaths:
the first when our bodies die,
the second when our bodies are lowered into the earth out of sight,
and the third when our loved ones forget us.

Team Fearless will not forget
 Dylan Hockley

Jesus said,
“Let the little children come to me,
 and do not hinder them,
For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Trial by Fire

Trial by fire or ordeal
is a judicial practice by which the guilt or innocence of the accused is determined by subjecting him to an unpleasant, usually dangerous experience.
Classically, the test is one of life or death and the proof of innocence is survival.
The accused is considered innocent by escaping injury or if his injuries heal.

'Ordeal by Red Hot Iron'

According to modern evolutionary theory,
different emotions evolved at different times.
Primal emotions or fears are associated with ancient parts of the brain.
They evolved among our pre mammal ancestors.

If you always put limits on everything you do,

physical or anything else.
It will spread into your work and into your life.
 There are no limits.
 There are only plateaus,
and you must not stay there,
 you must go beyond them.
-Bruce Lee-

It's said that failure to act or laziness is a sin...............

Sloth...... is defined as physical laziness or spiritual laziness.
Sloth has also been defined as a failure to do things that one should do.
In Christian faith the definition is evil exists when good men fail to act.

In martial arts the trial by fire is the Black Belt test.

Joe Lewis told us that for 11 minutes he wanted us to give him all of our heart.
This was probably one of the most pivotal moments in my life .
Did I experience fear....yup ...............Pain ....Hell Yea !

When I was experiencing intense pain,
just on the other side of the suffering was an intense connection with life.
and with being embodied, having a body and feeling sensations.
It’s almost as if the pure experience of it was all that mattered.
I recently had the honor of watching two of my students 'trial by fire',
The pre-test for Black belt.

I know intimately the commitment and sacrifice they've made.
And
I am blessed to have shared this experience with them.

In what ways might you be avoiding the pains of daily life?
How can you engage on your lifes' journey while saying “No” to the parts that feel difficult?

We numb ourselves by constantly pursuing achievement and in doing so,
we miss out on the true joy that comes from actualizing our truest and deepest desires.

Fire is the origin of stone.
By working the stone with heat,
I am returning it to it's source.

The Sacred Shroud

Shroud of Turin

The origins of the image on the shroud are the subject of intense debate.
Scientific publications and theologians have presented diverse arguments for
 authenticity and methods of forgery.

One writer says,
The Shroud is an image of God's love as well as of human sin.
The imprint left by the tortured body of the Crucified One,
attests to the tremendous human capacity for causing pain and death to one's fellow man,
it stands as an icon of the suffering of the innocent in every age.

You are very powerful,
provided you know how powerful you are.
-Yogi Bhajan-

We try to avoid the unknown by not facing our uncertain future.
Whether it's death, failure, ridicule, pain or injury
We avoid change because we feel  that nothing is guaranteed.
How can we develop inner strength to grow, heal, and evolve without changing..?

Our lives are a reflection of how we handle adversity and how we inspire others to do the same.
In sales and life, your most powerful learning tool is your power of observation.
Valuable skills can be picked up just from observing various business/personal situations.

Once upon a time, mighty dinosaurs ruled the earth.
They no longer even exist..... Why?
Because they didn’t adapt to change. Don’t risk extinction!

-Dan Kennedy-

You may think that in life, a lot of things happen to you along the way.
The truth is, in life, you happen to a lot of things along the way.
Choosing to live your life by your own choice is the greatest freedom you will ever have.
The attributes you project and inspire in  those whose lives you touch will be your legacy.

Freeing your spirit can be as simple as loosing a little weight.....
not physical weight but emotional weight.
When we are carrying a little extra weight but we are still functional,
 we become complacent, content.
We adapt to the 'added pounds'.
When we accept the extra pounds as part of life it sabotages our focus.

In our tradition, we die three deaths.

The first death is a physical one.
Our second death is when our bodies are lowered into the ground,
returned to mother earth, out of sight.
The third and most definitive death is when there is no one left alive that remembers us.

The positive attributes you project and inspire
into the lives you touch will be your legacy.
-Robb Buckland-
